Party Theme Around Your Birthday Cake
Birthday cakes are the centers of attraction at all birthday parties and believe it or not, they can help you build a theme for your party too. Read on to know more.
A friend’s little girl wanted a theme party for her birthday. She had so many exciting ideas but just could not zero in on any single one. Finally, the birthday girl decided that no matter what the theme of the party was, what she definitely wanted was a big, frosty Vanilla birthday cake.
The vanilla cake being fluffy and snow-white reminded the girl’s parents of snow. And soon they were gearing up for a party that had the unusual theme of snow!
Soft-white cotton balls and white buntings were placed all over the party room, making it look like there had just been a snowfall. And tiny flakes of cotton were put on the plants to look like snowflakes. Someone even made an artificial snowman using cotton and Styrofoam. The little girl had a snowy birthday party that she and her friends never forgot. In a land that had never seen a flake of snow! All thanks to the birthday cake!
Another child insisted on a birthday cake shaped like a swimming pool. This gave rise to the idea of a pool party. His parents put an inflatable pool in the garden and asked the boy’s friends to dress in their swimsuits. The party was a great success and the kids had plenty of fun splashing around in the pool.
An unusual coconut-pineapple flavored cake that a friend’s grandmother sent for her birthday gave rise to an unusual theme for her birthday party. Hawaii! She asked her guests to come wearing leis and grass skirts and the party was a big hit.
If you too are keen on having a cake with a particular design or flavor for your birthday, try creating a theme round it.
If you don’t want anything as elaborate as a pool or Hawaiian party, use the color or flavor of your cake as the party theme.
For instance, if you’re having a strawberry cake with pink frosting, you may want to put pink flowers in your flower vases. Or make table centerpieces by placing strawberries in glass bowls. You could even slice strawberries and wedge them on your drinking glasses. Or use napkins of a matching color or crockery that has a strawberry print on it.
The ideas that you can get from your cake are exciting and plenty.
It won’t be wrong to say here that it’s the cake that actually makes the party!
